For many people hair is one of the most important aspects of physical appearance. Some of us get their hair done regularly, while others hate their hair just after leaving the hair salon.
Can you describe someone's hairstyle? Can you name hair accessories? What does a hairdresser do?

Today many people are Irish despite nationality or stereotypes.
Who is Saint Patrick? Why do Irish celebrate him?

And if you want to learn more about St. Patrick, here's an animation by Jeremiah Warren (you can read more in the info):

Have you cleaned your house from top to bottom yet?  The practice of cleaning houses thoroughly in the first warm days of the year has become customary in many countries, especially in North America and northern Europe due to the climate. After a cold winter the first days of spring were the best time for dusting, as it was warm enough to open doors and windows.
If you need a spring cleaning checklist in English, here you can find some suggestions:

The Winter Olympics are just around the corner, so this post will be about winter sports. I'm not a sportsperson. It's hard to admit, but I was a sports failure at school. Now there are only two activities I can really enjoy: riding a bike and dancing (in my own way). I think I've got rather good sense of rhythm :)
Let's go back to the Olympics. The Winter and Summer Olympic Games used to be like twins (although the Summer Olympics are older). Until 1992 they were held in the same years. Now they are held on separate four-year cycles.
Fun facts: Poland is one of 12 countries that have attended every Winter Olympic Games. The USA has earned gold at each Games.
What kind of sports are in the Winter Olympic programme? There are 15 Winter Olympic sports:

Winter Olympic sports are sports practised on snow or ice. Some of them combine two sports, some use skis or special sleds. Some of them look similar, e.g. luge and skeleton. To know the difference remember how you sit (luge - face-up, skeleton - face-down).
It's also worth to know how to pronounce the names. Most of them are easy, while others can be tricky. For example, luge. The word is of French origin, so its pronunciation is not obvious.

How often do you wonder what to wear? For some of us this question is a tough one, but there are lots of people who love fashion and clothes. Here are six pictionaries with clothes and accessories.

And for my 3rd-graders a small handout on how to describe people:

What are countable and uncountable nouns? It is easier to explain it in relation to food and drink.
Every food item that you can count (that has both the singular and the plural form) is countable, e.g. apple - I can eat one apple or I can eat ten apples. Every substance, such as water, meat or cheese is uncountable (it can't be made plural). Although there are some ways to "count" the uncountable nouns. We can measure the amount of a substance or put it in a container,  e.g. a slice of cheese or a bottle of mineral water.
Here is a little handout:
1) countable and uncountable nouns: some, any, how many, how much;
2) how to count food and drink;
3) quantities and containers pictionary.
